with love and imagination
a cardboard box
adorned in shades of blue
wallpapered with scrap fabric
and some Elmer’s glue
Scissors Cut Misshaped Holes
creating imperfect windows
my castle
my mansion
my palace
a little girl’s dream of a perfect life
a handsome husband
the docile wife
a sleeping baby in a bassinet
a cat, a dog
with a white picket fence
innocence existed
even knowing
this dream would be discarded
