filicide

somehow,
the story always ends the same.
tragic really.
sorrow can make a person feel numb.
as if nothing is real.
as if nothing could ever make the heart bleed again.
too much thinking
scraping over past wounds,
bringing a darkness
blackened heart
love drowns
emotions
fester
consumed by fear
i struggle to breathe.
death brings solace with her.

I feel it necessary to explain this poem was inspired by a news story in March 2011.
